You Fail It

An ancient blog post under Video Games.

‘It’ is releasing worthwhile ports of retro games on the Wii’s Virtual Console.

When I’m charged AU$7.50 for a NES game and AU$15 for a N64 game I expect it to be better than when it was first released, especially since I can get the original for free from the interweb. I want fixed bugs, I want new content, I want my Gamecube controller to rumble when appropriate, I want online multiplayer for Gunstar Heroes and games that were never released to a Western audience.

What do I get? No ghost racing in Mario Kart 64 and Sonic with a refresh rate so slow the game seems to lag. A host of terrible games to pad out the release of good ones.

I’m going back to sweet, sweet emulators on my DS Lite, Nintendo. Email me when you put up some Chrono Trigger or Ocarina of Time.

That's all there is, there isn't any more.
