Upgrade

An ancient blog post under Video Games, Blog.

With lots of nice new games on my doorstep, (S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Bioshock) I’ve been upgrading my computer in steps. Last week I added another gigabyte of RAM, and this week I’ve upgraded my video card.

It’s an NVIDIA 7900GS (if you recognise it, kudos — I never heard of it before I bought it) with 512MB of memory. Being fearful of overheating due to my extra RAM and new video card, I had a 120mm fan installed also. And while I was there, I had a Sound Blaster card installed and bought some new 2․1 speakers with subwoofer (I already have surround-sound headphones, see?). Decent price, though this will be my last upgrade for probably the rest of the year and well into the next.

Interesting fact: the three fans on my computer’s case all have blue LEDs on them. The computer’s case glows a freakish blue at night. It’s pretty trendy.

In other news, I’ve been working like crazy. I want to go bowling with a friend, but I am very tired indeed.

That's all there is, there isn't any more.
