More time

An ancient blog post under Blog.

While driving to work in the early morning, hours before dawn, I sometimes slow down to look at the few cars underneath an overpass, or at the featureless sky, the glow of a neon sign over the husk of a closed-down restaurant.

My favourite thing to look at is the shadows that play over the dashboard when a floodlight shines through the railings of a bridge I cross. It is all geometric shapes of black-bound light that elongate and travel as I travel.

When I see these shadows, I wish sometimes that I was a passenger in this car, that I might simply watch these shadows and know that it is one less thing I am speeding past.

That's all there is, there isn't any more.
