There’s this project I’ve always wanted to do, and I’ve started it maybe two or three times but always put it off until later.

It’s called Ligature, and its usage hinges on the interconnection of all known things.

My average sentence length during a short story is fifteen to twenty words; we’ll call it fifteen. In fifteen words, we can count on an average of four nouns. Each of these nouns has character and meaning and connotation, and I would like to see if, by writing individual very short stories using each noun in an existing story as a base, if what results is something interesting.

I’m going to finish this software this time. And then I can start.

Presently I am on a quest to find a list of the most common nouns in the English language. There are more than 170,000 words in common use, and about half of them are nouns. I am only concentrating on the very elementary ones.

Success! The noun list is complete: 2,332 of the most common nouns in English. Includes months, seasons, colours, places, professions etc. Have a look.

That's all there is, there isn't any more.
