While on my way to buy jumbo bottles of Coke for my mom’s Christmas party, I caught sight of a man standing in front of a goodwill box, the kind where people unload their unwanted clothing to charity.

Though he was dressed reasonably well, the trolley he pushed was a shambles of flat items in plastic bags.

Before turning the corner I saw him pick a teddy bear from a pile of castoffs and put it in his trolley, and it occured to me that the flat items were in fact clothes; the most practical present when your family is just above the bread line.

That's all there is, there isn't any more.
