Racial rioting in Cronulla.

It is disgusting that a rioter in this week’s racial riots at Cronulla would draw parallels between racist rioters bashing civilians and the Anzacs fighting to keep Australia safe. Along the lines of what he said were:
“Our fathers and grandfathers fought to keep Australia safe, so that’s what we’re doing now. We’re defending our country.”

How can they compare their drunken selves to the Anzacs, who were good warriors and fought for a real cause? The rioters’ cause is an imagined one, and the conduct of all parties involved is disgraceful: stabbing a Middle Eastern-looking person with a beer bottle is not revenge on the Middle Eastern men who beat up the lifeguard.

Maybe we should gather all the people who are just looking for a fight and sic them on each other so the country won’t have to put up with their ineptitude any longer.
