Telemarketers.

I do love having a good conversation with a telemarketer. I don’t abuse them or anything of the sort, I simply like to put them in situations they weren’t trained to handle.

For example, while I was at work a woman called me up and asked to speak to the business owner.

Of course, I am the business owner.

She told me that I could save, like, seven cents every hour on my electricity bill, and I could switch service providers like that, and isn’t that great? I told her I wasn’t interested. She asked me, “You’re not interested in saving yourself and your business money?” And I told her no, I wasn’t interested; I already have enough money.

Complete silence. For ten or so whole seconds.

“You don’t want to save money?”

No.

“Don’t you understand that this is a great offer?” etcetera.

Well, yeah, but I have more money than I need. I should start digitising some cash, my wallet is so bulky. I mean, my car is a Hyundai, man.

I eventually had to hang up on the poor woman, but the lesson was learned. No telemarketers have called us since.
