What is SimTypewriter?

SimTypewriter is a pared-down text editor for writers, meant to replicate the text input style of a typewriter to help you become more productive.

How does this increase productivity?

If you need to write, you may have realised that you do better work when you're writing with a pen or on a typewriter than you do when you work with a word processor on a PC. I find that this is because a word processor has too many features: you can change fonts, you can change margins, alignments, colours, layouts, styles. You can go back to sentences and edit them, you can fix spelling and grammatical mistakes and delete blocks of text. When you are writing by hand or typewriting you can’t correct things and you can't delete things, and so you must simply keep writing.

How do I use it?

See the paper that's coming out of the typewriter? Type on it.

How do I save stuff?

Hit Ctrl-A to select everything in the text box, then hit Ctrl+C to copy the text to memory. Go to a text editor or word processor, hit Ctrl+V to paste the text into a new document, and then save it.
