3.0 Intermediate movement
Mov (movement range) is a representation of how many clicks the unit can cover in a turn (similar to km/h), and is shown in the form Mov #.
3.1 Movement cost
The ease at which terrain can be crossed is represented by that terrain's
movement cost. Simple terrain like a road is far easier to traverse than a steep mountain, so the road has a lower movement cost. Movement cost is subtracted from the unit's Mov to determine how far it can still move. Costs are listed with terrain in
section 5.0.
Before a unit can enter a click of terrain, the movement cost must be subtracted from the unit's remaining Mov points. When there are insufficient Mov points left to pay for the cost of traversing more clicks, then the unit can no longer move.
To climb to higher steps (see section 5) 2 Mov must be used, but to move around on the same step requires only 1 Mov.
